NHH AGM

Please note will take place on Zoom on Wendesday 19th January 2022 @ 19:00.

A link to the AGM has been posted by e-mail to all NHH members.

The AGM is open to all members and it would be great to have as many people participate as possible!

SA North District XC champs, Gordonstoun, 4th December 2021

Five NHH athletes took part in the Scottish Athletics North District cross-country championships at Gordonstoun school.

The course is a favourite of our athletes, and comprises a mixture of gravel tracks, turf and a climb up through a small area of woodland. Weather conditions were favourable, but parts of the course were rather muddy, which made it challenging for those in road shoes (!). Worth the 6.5 hours  (total) car journey plus accompanying comfort stops.

The results are available here.

Broubster trail – Sunday 28th November 2021

Twenty-one Harriers ventured out onto a wintry scene for the 2nd 2021 season trail run at Broubster forest. David ‘das Spence’ Spencer cycled out in the snow to set up the course. Well done to all runners!

Although it was a cool 2’C, the absence of wind and winter sunshine made for a fairly pleasant run.

Snow showers during the night and the calm conditions resulted in picture postcard conditions within the forest.

Photos posted above show all the Harriers before the start!

Return to Thursday Night Training

following the successful re-introduction of NHH squad training on Tuesday nights, we are now able to add Thursday squads from the 8th July.  Please remember you must book into for each session separately on the NHH website – https://www.northhighlandharriers.co.uk/training/.  Please also note the meeting points in Thurso and Wick and the requirement to arrive by 5.25pm.

There are 24 spaces for each session so lots of capacity for everyone to come along.
On the NHH website, please see the updated guidance for attending sessions and also information about the availability of our Welfare Officer if any members would like to speak to someone in confidence as we all continue to adjust to these new times we find ourselves in.

Level 2 and Update to Training

As of Monday (17 May), we will be in Level 2 and although we are waiting final confirmation from Scottish Athletics on the finer details of what that means for training, we are planning changes based on the current Scottish Athletics framework. If we have to make any amendments this will be communicated out via e-mail as soon we have received and considered them.
From this coming Tuesday (18 May), we will be able to accept 24 people at training. Physical distancing will not be required from the point of warm up, during training and warm down. You must still book for training via the NHH website and please do not turn up for training if you have not booked.
The meeting point for Thurso returns to the Riverside Hut in Janet Street.
Please see below the training page for full details and the links for booking.
