26/04/13 - London Marathon results - Lorn a Stanger and Fiona Bremner completed this year's Virgin London Marathon, in times of 3:23:40 and 4:40:33 respectively.
Roxane Andersen also took part in the Lochaber Marathon the previous week, completing it in 3:41:20 (and managing a negative split!).
21/04/13 - Brora 10K - The Brora 10k date has been set for Sunday 21st July. Registration is on the day at Brora Heritage Centre from 11:30.
Wheelchair/handbikes 10k race starts at 12:50
10k run at 13:00
3k Fun Run at 13:15
Entry fee is £8 for 10k and £3 for 3k. Medals for all finishers and usual refreshments for the competitors.
06/03/13 - Get to know your Garmin Session - Wednesday 13th March, Miller Academy Gym, 6.45pm-7.30pm - For those of us who keep asking fellow runners 'What does that button do', 'How did you get it to do that' or 'I never knew it could do that' - this session is for you. Or if you just want to find out what the benefits would be of using a Garmin come and find out. Take your Garmin if you have one and come and join us for a self-help session.

27/02/13 - Loch More Trail Run on 3 March - This trail run will have 3 different courses to suit all abilities: 4 miles, 8 miles and 13.5 miles. You do not to have your time recorded if you would prefer - just come along and take part. Come along and give this one a try! The course maps can be viewed on this link.
26/02/13 - Night Run on 23 March - We are planning our first ever Night Run and the 23rd March is the date for your diary - so get it blocked off for some fun and a wee run. Actual time to be confirmed nearer to the event but will be around 8pm kick-off.
The run will take place at Reay Golf Club and will be over 2 mile loops with runners having the option to do 1 or 2 loops. Maps will be available and runners will need to take head torches (Run4It can help out with this :-). The run will be followed by soup and crusty rolls, and refreshments can be bought at the the Golf Club. There will be a minimal charge to cover the cost of the supper and some fun prizes for the runners. Look forward to seeing as many runners and partners out for the run and after-run.
An indication of numbers is needed for catering so please contact us by email on northhighlandharriers@gmail.com or Facebook by 17th March. One wee point for anyone wanting to take out kids, they are more than welcome but need to be accompanied by an adult at all times due to Licensing Laws.
26/02/13 - Hoy Half Marathon - This event is being held on 16th June, and entry has just opened. Entry is strictly limited due to transport issues on the Island so get your entry in quick if you are interested. The entry pack can be downloaded on the 'Fixtures' page.
26/02/13 - Friday Night Run Map - A Map of the Friday Night Run route has been added to the website - follow this link.
10/02/13 - Trail Run Maps - Maps for the next couple of trail runs have been added to the fixtures page - just click on 'map' beside the trail run details and you will get an Ordnance Survey OpenSouce map. You can zoom in / out and move the map about, some also have markers providing more information. If they are useful they will be produced for all the winter trail runs.
09/02/13 - Aviemore Half Marathon - Entry to this popular event, which will take place on 23 October, is now open using this link.
03/02/13 - Scottish Masters Cross Country Championship @ Forres- 5 NHH members took part in the National Cross Country Championship. The club were able to enter a mens team of 4, who finished 10th out of the 15 participating clubs. Jack Trevelyan finished in 27th place, Kevin Cormack in 46th place, David Spencer in 62nd place, closely followed by Andrew Tait in 64th place. Lorna Stanger was the only female entrant and she finished in 24th place, 7th in the F40 category. Well done to everyone who represented NHH at the event. 06/02/13 - Camster Trail Run - 17/02/13- please note that due to ongoing windfarm construction work the Camster trail run has had to be replaced by an alternative venue. Hence the trail run on 17/02/13 will be at Broubster Forest - full details of route and distances, etc. will be sent out prior to the event by email.

18/01/13 - NHH Burns Supper - on Saturday 26th January at the Blue Door Cafe, 7 for 7.30pm. Traditional haggis on the menu and a veggie option will be available. £12 per person. Please e-mail Kim by Monday 16th. Please indicate if you want a vegetarian haggis and remember it is bring your own bottle.
12/01/13 - Dorrery Hill - 'Dash for a Dram' - 25 runners turned up at 11am on New Year's day for the second 'Dash for a Dram' at Dorrery Hill. This was a one mile run, with a 110m ascent, to the trig point at the top of the hill. Runners could then have a dram or a soft drink before descending. The conditions for the run were good, with the rain just about managing to stay away but there was some ice on the track in places. A prize was awarded to the runner that finished in the closest time to what they had estimated - this was won by Yvonne Pollard.

30/12/12 - Beginners Running Group - To co-incide with the opening of the entry for the 2013 Castle of Mey 10K event, from 14th January 2013, a 'Beginners running group' will start on Monday Nights at 6 pm. Anyone interested please just turn at the Blue Door Café (at Thurso Camp Site). Refreshments are normally availble to purchase after the run, where you will be able to sit and chat with runners of all experience levels.
05/12/12 - London Marathon - The draw for the 2 NHH places for the Virgin London Marathon took place before circuit training tonight. The lucky names drawn out of the hat were Dave McKeown and Fiona Bremner. Contratulations to you both!
03/12/12 - NHH 'Earlybird' Membership Rate - 2013 membership opens on 7th December at the earlybird rate of £16, this rate will only be available until the 31st Dec 2012. During this time you can also secure your entry into the 2013 Castle of Mey 10K, this offer is only available between the 7th - 31st Dec 2012

13/11/12 - NHH Annual General Meeting - The AGM has been scheduled for Wednesday the 28th November, 7.30 pm at the Blue Door Cafe.
13/11/12 - London Marathon - This year the club has again been given two places for the Virgin London Marathon. Anyone interested in one of the places should register their interest by email. A draw from all those interested will take place soon after the Olrig Hill trail run the 2nd December.
10/11/12 - Tain Hill Trail Race - Six NHH members took part in this years Tain Hill race with Jack finishing in second place. The full results can be found on the Tain Runners website (just click on 'Results for all years' at top of page).
10/11/12 - NHH Kit - A new and expanded range of NHH kit is now available to order. A copy of the order form is attached here. Completed order forms should be given to Sarah Dunnett or any committee member. Samples of the new kit will be available at the winter trail runs, and the first order will be placed after the John O'Groats trail run on 24 November. There are still some of the original NHH kit - vests and long sleeve t-shirts - still available at reduced rates.
03/10/12 - Wick Triathlon Club winter runs - Wick Triathlon club have a series of 6 winter runs, one every month on a Tuesday night between October and March. This is a 5 mile timed run and the dates have been added to the fixtures on the website - meet at Mackays Hotel for a 1745 start. There is also a monthly timed 'Cliff Run' on Saturdays - dates are 27/10, 24/11, 22/12, 26/1, 23/2, 30/3 - meet at 0900 at the train station. In addition, they have a 8 to 10 mile run every Saturday from the boating pond at the Riverside starting at 9am - starting on 6/10, except those Saturdays when there is a Cliff Run.
03/10/12 - Wick - Thurso Relay Race - The Wick to Thurso relay race took place on Sunday 23 September, with two NHH teams taking part. Conditions were ideal with a slight following wind and blue sky! One of the NHH teams finished in first place in a time of 1 hour 55 minutes and 38 secs. Here is a photo of the team with the trophy.
