Report 7 - Week beginning 22/02/10
Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?
No, as I'm running 5 miles now.
Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.
Yes loads more this week as injury is better, I'm now running 5 miles and loving it and actually had 4 runs this week.
How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?
I have felt fab this week, the highs for me were getting back out running and actually feeling like I don't want to stop, although the running was tough this week with the snow and ice but I wasn't going to let the weather beat me.
As for lows I don't want anymore of them!
Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?
Definitely a huge difference in all three.
Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?
Still pounding the pavements and tackling the hills.
Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?
Training alone this week.
Any injuries?
No and I don't want another injury.
Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?
I am really toning up and at times have too much energy, don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?
Was at the gym a couple of times this week and doing three runs during the week and a big run at the weekend. Wasn't swimming this week but I'm back there on Monday.
Any other observations?
This was a tough week with regards to the weather, but it challenged me and pushed me. Friday was a tough run as I had a head on wind and god it was tough going plus with all the slush I swear I had a pond in each trainer! I tried a run after dinner this week and I struggled, I think I much prefer running first thing in the morning but I'm going to try running at different times of the day to see how I get on, my aim for next week is to be running 6 miles.
