Report 5 - Week beginning 08/02/10

Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?

No I haven't, as I'm now able to run between 3 to 4 miles.

Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.

YES I'm doing far more than expected, still going to the gym, running 3 times a week, and this week I'll get back swimming, YIPEE.

How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?

Mmm this was a bad week for me, started of brill on Monday even tackled a couple of hills, then on Wednesday felt really deflated after my run, then by Friday I was still attacking the hills but my shins were in agony by the afternoon, but were fine on Saturday.

Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?

Yes I'm seeing a huge difference in my breathing and distance as I'm able to run a lot further before I stop and do a minutes walk.

Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?

I'm still pounding the pavements, never made it out to the forest as I decided to start and tackle the hills.

Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?

I have been training with my husband this week and its been good as he has pushed me a bit harder, I definitely think it makes a difference running with someone, not sure how I'll be this week as hubby goes away on Wednesday, then I'll be back running on my own.

Any injuries?

Some pain in my shins but by the next day I was fine.

Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?

I would definitely say I'm more energetic, I've also stopped smoking, so I'm hoping to see a huge improvement in my fitness .

Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?

I'm still going to the gym, and will get back swimming this week woo hoo.

Any other observations?

I'm hoping this week is going to be a better week for me, my hubby said to me I have to expect to have bad days, and I've not to let it get me down, so its chin up this week.
