Report 4 - Week beginning 01/02/10

Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?

I'm running for 10 mins then walking for 1 min.

Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.

Yes, far more, I actually ran 4 days this week, and going to the gym twice a week, not swimming just now as pool is still closed but can't wait to get back swimming, went for an hours cycle on Sunday which I enjoyed.

How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?

I felt fantastic this week, I'm up to running 3 miles now, I'm gong to give myself another 2 weeks then I'm setting 1 training day aside every week to work on the hills, rather than just trying to run straight up a hill I want to work on it gradually. The highs for me are how fantastic I feel after I've been running, and as for lows I'm praying I never have any.

Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?

I am seeing a massive difference in my speed, distance and breathing.

Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?

I'm heading out to the forest this week to try a different terrain, but I'll be pounding the pavements as well.

Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?

This week I was training alone as hubby was away on a course but now he's back he will be joining me. I feel I'm ready now to have a running partner so they can push me that little bit further when I would normally want to stop if I was training by myself.

Any injuries?

Not so far, hopefully it stays like that.

Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?

Yes I'm starting to feel the benefits as the weeks go on, I have so much energy and I'm defo starting to tone up. I'm also feeling full of life, where as before I'd be happy lounging about, but now I think I've got ants in my pants as I cant wait till my next training session!

Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?

I'm still going to the gym, my wii fit and was cycling this weekend, but roll on the swimming pool opening again, I'm counting down the days.

Any other observations?

Well I got kitted out with all my running clothes and feel like a proper runner now, (my hubby even got kitted out as well) ,I am loving every minute of my training and I am feeling very excited about the Mey 10k I wish I was running it now, but I guess I'll have to be patient !!!!! .
