Report 3 - Week beginning 25/01/10

Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?

No, this week I wanted to see what I was capable of doing.

Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.

Far more, I'm still running 3 days a week, gym twice a week and swimming every day, but this week I decided to see how long I can run for and I really surprised myself. I am running 1.9 miles and on Monday was running it in 19 minutes, by Friday I was running it in 15 minutes. I also wanted to go running everyday but know I cant push it too much, I think I have caught the running bug!!

How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?

I have been as high as a kite this week, last week I stated that I couldn't even run a mile, well now I know I'm running1.9 miles things are starting to look good and I'm beginning to believe I can do it.

Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?

I am seeing a massive difference in my speed, distance and breathing.

Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?

I'm still pounding the pavements but hopefully move on to the forest in the next 2 weeks.

Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday was still training alone, then on Friday my hubby came out running with me.

I think on Friday hubby pushed me a bit harder than I was pushing myself when I was training alone, which I enjoyed as I think when your by your self you maybe don't push yourself as hard.

Any injuries?

Not so far.

Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?

Yes I'm starting to feel the benefits, I have so much energy and I'm definitely starting to tone up.

Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?

I'm going swimming everyday doing between 40 and 50 lengths, in the gym I'm doing 15 minutes rowing, 15 minutes bike and 20 minutes on the cross trainer. I'm going to start the yoga on the wii fit to work on my inner core.

Any other observations?

I'm feeling really positive this week, I want to push myself harder and harder this week, but I know I have to be patient and take it one step at a time.

I'm going to Inverness this week to the Run4it shop to get kitted out with all my running gear I'm so excited, (never thought I'd see the day I'd be excited about buying running gear) I've definitely got the running bug !!!
