Report 15 - Week beginning 19/04/10
Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?
No not really.
I'm being very careful as shins have been a wee bit sore, but not too sore that I need to rest them.
Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.
Mon - started out not too bad but I was struggling with my breathing a wee bit, then my right shin started getting a wee bit achey, so walked back to truck, probably only did about 2.5 miles. I was very disappointed with myself 2day.
Wed - went to the gym first thing, I did 10 mins crosstrainer ,5 mins rowing machine, 15 mins treadmill, and also some weights for my upper body strength. Then I went out for a wee run, I ran 3.6 miles felt not too bad but again I just couldn't control my breathing.
Thurs - at the gym again today, 15 mins on crosstrainer,10 mins rowing machine, 3 miles on the treadmill, and some work on my upper body.
Fri - never got out on my usual run today as got called away to Aberdeen unexpectedly.
How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?
I feel like I've had a crap week this week, can't put my finger on it but I'm just not happy with my breathing and running this week.
Lows - all my training this week.
Highs - looking forward to a fab weeks training this week.
Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?
This week a definite no!
Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?
A mixture of gym and roads this week.
Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?
Monday I was out running with a friend but rest of the week I was by myself.
Any injuries?
No, just a slight ache in my shins, not what I would call an injury.
Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?
As I've said before I have really toned up, my legs are really toned and my butt is filling out all my jeans so I guess its getting toned too! I have defo got loads more energy as well.
Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?
Yes I was at the gym, and also out walking as well, gona get out on my bike this week.
Any other observations?
I cant believe we only have 3 weeks to go, oh my god, I have butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it.
I have enjoyed my training although there has been some highs and some lows although theres been more highs than lows, thank goodness.
I will most certainly be carrying on with my running as I really enjoy it and as I've stated previously I'm totally hooked.
