Report 9 - Week beginning 08/03/10

Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?

Aiming to do 3 runs a week but restricted it to 2 this week due to a sore knee.

Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.

Slightly less than I wanted to but managed a better pace on both my runs.

How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?

Felt fine during training but this sore knee is a bit of a low but I'm sure it will be fine.

Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?

Definite if not a sizeable improvement in my pace.

Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?

On Tuesday I went back to the running group where I increased my time a little but my pace was much better than the previous week and again really enjoyed it. My knee took a day or so to recover so I didn't run until Friday where I did 3.5 miles around Halkirk, it was very windy but I enjoyed it and much to my pleasure again managed to increase my pace, hopefully this means the training is starting to pay off.

Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?

Once with the running group and once on my own.

Any injuries?

My knee is still giving me a little grief.

Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?

Nearly 2 stone lost now - maybe that's why my pace is increasing a little.

Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?

Went to the gym a couple of times spent a bit of time on the cross trainer and the bike I felt this helped my knee as well as my fitness. Played one game of squash.

Any other observations?

Last week was ok for me disappointed with doing less running but happier with my slightly increased pace.
