Report 4 - Week beginning 01/02/10
Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?
No I have given up on the programme at this stage.
Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.
Managed to do a lot more than my expectations.
How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?
The high this week was my Saturday morning run.
Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?
Huge difference this week in my distances although my pace is still a bit slow.
Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?
Did 3 runs this week, all of them outside in Thurso. I now have a Nike+ watch which records my time, distance and pace which I find really good. On Tuesday I ran just over 3 miles. On Thursday I ran 4 miles which took me 37 minutes and I felt good at the end of my run although I set off at too quick a pace and struggled after about 10 minutes but slowed down and managed to get a grip. On Saturday morning I went running with Sandra we ran for 47 minutes and managed to cover 5 miles (8k), I was fair chuffed as I felt good throughout the run and got a real buzz from it.
Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?
Ran on My own and with my wife - do enjoy more having company.
Any injuries?
No injuries.
Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?
That's a month I have been running for and I cant believe how good I am feeling, I feel very healthy I am losing weight and I am starting to find the training a little bit life changing so bring on the next run!
Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?
Played Squash a couple of times this week.
Any other observations?
Confession - as I am getting fitter I think I am starting to enjoy the running, although the big buzz comes after you have finished your run.
