Report 2 - Week beginning 18/01/10

Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?

THIS WEEK I FOLLOWED WEEK 3 AND AT THE WEEKEND DID A COUPLE OF RUNS FROM THE WEEK 4 PROGRAMME.

Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.

I AM WELL AHEAD OF WHERE I HOPED OR EVER IMAGINED I WOULD BE

How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?

STILL AT THE NOVELTY STAGE AND ONLY HIGHS - NO HOLDING ME BACK AT THIS STAGE

Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?

NOT LIFE CHANGING YET BUT MANAGING TO RUN FARTHER. THINK I HAVE LOST A BIT OF WEIGHT AS WELL SO THAT MUST BE HELPING

Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?

AQUIRED NEW RUNNING SHOES FROM RUN4IT IN INVERNESS . WITH THAT I FELT IT WAS TIME TO FACE UP TO REALITY AND START PLUNDERING THE PAVEMENTS

Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?

ON MY OWN , BUT AT THE WEEKEND WAS IN EDINBURGH AND RAN TWICE WITH MY WIFE SANDRA, SHE MOVED ME ON TO WEEK 4 PROGRAMME TELLING ME I WAS CAPABLE OF DOING IT - A VERY HARD TASKMASTER

Any injuries?

I STATED LAST WEEK I HAD SORE LEGS THAT IS A COMPLETE UNDERSTATEMENT TO HOW THEY FEEL NOW.THANKFULLY NO INJURIES.

Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?

TWO WEEKS IN AND I HAVE TO ADMIT I AM STARTING TO FEEL HEALTHIER AND SEEM TO HAVE MORE ENERGY ABOUT ME.

Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?

HAD 3 GAMES OF SQUASH THIS WEEK - MANAGING TO OVERCOME MY REGULAR PLAYING PARTNER JIM SANGSTER FOR THE 1ST TIME - UNSURE WAS THAT DUE TO MY INCREASED FITNESS OR HIS CORTISONE INJECTION IN HIS TROUBLED KNEE.

Any other observations?

DEPENDING ON HOW ONE DEFINES ENJOYMENT - I HAVE TO CONFESS ON MY 2 RUNS IN EDINBURGH I THINK I STARTED TO FIND SMALL LEVELS OF ENJOYMENT FROM THE RUNNING BUT HOPEFULLY THEIR MUST BE A LOT MORE TO COME
