Report 16 - Week beginning 26/04/10

Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?

3 Runs this week

Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.

Had a great week and probably managed more than my expectations.

How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?

Felt good all week and managing 3 runs were all highs but the peak was the Edinburgh 10k on Sunday.

Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?

Now that I am back running I am starting to regain the bit of fitness that I had lost.

Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?

On Monday I ran in Dunnet forest for about 5 miles and on Wednesday I ran in Wick for 4 miles. On Sunday Sandra and I ran in the Edinburgh 10k which was quite easily the highlight of my running career to date, after both spending so much off the last few weeks with injuries, to both compete and finish the race was great .It was a lovely course a nice day and to take part in such a big event which was my first 10k has made me really look forward to Mey which for me is the big one.

Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?

Twice on my own and once with Sandra.

Any injuries?

Knee is fine as long as I wear my support .I have a referral to see the specialist but I have put it off until after the Mey 10k.

Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?

Felt really good all week.

Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?

1 game of golf.

Any other observations?

Been a great week and after Edinburgh I am looking forward so much now till May 16th.
