Report 10 - Week beginning 15/03/10
Have you stuck to the training programme? If not any reasons why?
Managed 2 runs and a wee run this week due to niggling knee
Have you done more or less than expected? Explain.
More or less what I expected
How did you feel during training this week? What were the highs and lows?
More lows than highs this week due to my sore knee.
Are you seeing improvements; in speed, distance, breathing?
1st week I can honestly say no improvements in any areas
Where are you walking/running; gym, beach, roads, forests?
On Monday I ran nearly 4 miles at a reasonable pace and my knee felt fine which encouraged me. On Wed we went off to Italy for a few days for some ''warm weather training'', that turned into a professional eating and drinking session! On a pleasant Thursday morning I did a 3.5 mile run along Lake Garda with beautiful scenery and a reasonable hangover, managed the run not to badly but my knee gave me the worst grief to date. On Saturday morning I set off running again but only did just over 2 miles mainly down to pain from my knee although I don't think the Italian wine helped.
Are you training alone/with someone else/mixture? How does this affect your training?
Once on my own and twice with Sandra in Italy
Any injuries?
My Knee is now giving me real grief.
Are you feeling any benefits away from training as a result of the training; health, toning up, more energetic?
-
Are you doing any other forms of exercise; swimming, cycling, yoga, pilates?
Walking and did some cycling in Italy.
Any other observations?
If my knee continues to pain me looks like a week's break is the only answer and the prospect of that really upsets me.
