Castle of Mey 10K - 12th May 2013

Please use menu, top-left, to navigate the Mey 10K web pages.

The most Northerly 10K on British Mainland

The Castle of Mey 10k is the most northerly 10k on the British mainland, and is run in the beautiful grounds and surroundings of the historic 14th Century Scottish Castle, the Queen Mother's home in Caithness.

With the kind permission of the Castle and Gardens of Mey, North Highland Harriers are the proud organisers of the Castle of Mey 10K.

The course retains the 2012 route starting at the Castle of Mey and looping through Scarfskerry village before finishing back at the Castle of Mey.  This fast flat course offers the runners some stunning scenery along the coastline and with good conditions on the day, both course records for the men’s and women’s race are up for grabs as well as personal best records for many runners returning from 2012.

2013 Race Results

Congratulations to Gordon Lennox and Emma Dunnett who were the winners of the 2013 Castle of Mey 10K race, in the Male and Female catgeories respectively. Despite the faily breezy conditions Gordon finished in a course record time of 34:02, almost 2 minutes quicker than the winning time last year. Stan Mackenzie finished 2nd Male in a time of 35:27 and Jack Trevelyan finshed 3rd Male in a time of 35:32.

Emma won the Woman's race, finishing in a time of 41:13. She was followed home by sister Oonagh, in a time of 42:35. Lorna Stanger was 3rd Female finishing in a time of 42:57.

The full results, based on the chip times, can be found in the attached document click here (Adobe Acrobat file).

A full race report and a list of all the prize winners is available on the Castle of Mey results page (see navigation bar on left hand side).
