Please use menu, top-left, to navigate the Mey 10K web pages.
The most Northerly 10K on British Mainland
The Castle of Mey 10k is the most northerly 10k on the British mainland, and is run in the beautiful grounds and surroundings of the historic 14th Century Scottish Castle, the Queen Mother's home in Caithness.
With the kind permission of the Castle and Gardens of Mey, North Highland Harriers are the proud organisers of the Castle of Mey 10K.
2012 Race Results
Congratulations to Jack Trevelyan and Oonagh Dunnett who were the winners of the 2012 Castle of Mey 10K race, in the Male and Female catgeories respectively. Despite the windy conditions Jack finished in a time of 35:59, some 13 seconds quicker than his winning time last year. Oonagh won the Woman's race for the first time, finishing in a time of 41:08. This was a huge 2 minutes and 32 seconds quicker than the time she ran last year.
The full results, based on the chip times, can be found in the attached document click here (Adobe Acrobat file).
A full race report and a list of all the prize winners can be found here.
Local photographer, Angus Mackay, took photos at the event and they can be viewed, and orders placed, at his website (click).
Event Tee-shirts
After three years of organising the Castle of Mey event, the consensus of many runners, was that you could only wear so many race tee-shirts and it was time for a change. The decision was therefore taken to provide drawstring bags as part of the ‘goodie bags’ for this year’s Castle of Mey runners.
Unfortunately as the result of an administrative error by the online entry site, the link to select tee-shirt sizes was not removed and all entrants should now have received an e-mail to explain this.
For those who still wish a commemorative tee-shirt, they can be purchased from Mac Signs Ltd, Inverness at a cost of £8.50. Orders placed after the race (up until 27th May 2012) will be posted out but will incur an additional £2.50 Postage & packaging charge. To place an order please complete the attached order form (click here), which includes details on how to submit the completed order form.
Offical Charity for 2012 Event
The official charity of the 2012 Castle of Mey 10k is MFR 'Cash for Kids'. Please download the sponsor form here.
