For further details see the Running the Highlands (click) website.
MARCH
18/03/11 - BLINGERY TRAIL RUN CANCELLED - Due to the ongoing works at Blingery the course is out of bounds. Therefore this event has been cancelled. But we have come up with a cunning plan!!!!! We will be running an event over the moors (up by the all weather pitch at Naver, Thurso) on Sunday morning. Because of the short notice we will set out a 3 mile loop - each individual can then choose whether to run 3, 6 or 9 miles - something for everyone (we aim to please!). Note that we plan for ALL runners to go off at 1000hrs so get there on time to register etc. We have the use of the changing facilities from 0900hrs until 1200hrs for registration etc. We will try and put out more info before the event - map etc. The course can be 'quite' muddy so don't wear your nice new, clean road shoes!!
09/03/11 - Roz Macleod took part in the Nairn 10K at the weekend (06/03/11) and finished in a time of 1 hr 00 min 11 secs. Well done to Roz
01/03/11 - For the third consecutive year 12 runners are taking part in the Hoy half marathon on Sunday 12 June - this year is the 25th anniversary of the event. Thanks to Sandy for organising the rib boat for the travel to and from the island; this is probably the only way of getting there and back in a day. It is a hilly course, but this has not stopped us coming back with an impressive medal haul in the last two years - especially in the team events.
FEBRUARY
16/02/11 - For the third consecutive year we are planning a day out over to Hoy for its annual half marathon on Sunday 12 June - this year is the 25th anniversary of the event. Travel to and from Hoy will be via the semi-rigid rib boat from John O'Groats, leaving about 0830 and returning just after 1700. We have 12 guaranteed entries for the event (£16 for non-SAL members) but they are only available until next Wednesday (23/02). Further details and the entry pack is available via a link on the fixtures page. Cost of the boat trip will be ~£25 assuming the boat if full (which it has been for previous trips). Names and completed forms (with entry fee) to Sandy by above date please!

12/01/11 - On Sunday morning Jack Trevelyan took part in a re-arranged Christmas Canter 10K at Aberdeen beach and came home in first place, in a time of 36:38.
